Meet Scott Gibbons, O.D.

As a third-generation Idahoan, Dr. Scott Gibbons is proud to care for the community he has always called home. He joined Eyecare Associates of Idaho in January 2023, bringing more than a decade of experience in advanced medical eye care and a passion for helping patients protect their vision through every stage of life.

Education & Professional Background

Dr. Gibbons grew up in Nampa and earned his Bachelor of Science in Health Science Studies from Boise State University before moving to Memphis, Tennessee, to attend the Southern College of Optometry.

Following graduation, he completed a highly competitive residency at the Memphis Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where he received advanced training in complex primary eye care and ocular disease. He then spent the next 10 years practicing in a referral-based ophthalmology clinic, working alongside leading ophthalmologists to provide care for patients with a wide range of complex eye conditions.

Dr. Gibbons provides comprehensive eye care with special interests in:

  • Specialty contact lenses, including keratoconus and other corneal conditions

A Passion for Lifelong Learning

Throughout his career, Dr. Gibbons has remained committed to advancing the profession through education. He has presented lectures locally and nationally on topics including ocular surface disease, retinal conditions, and dry eye, reflecting his dedication to staying at the forefront of modern eye care.

Life Outside the Office

Outside of the office, Dr. Gibbons and his wife, Julieann, enjoy spending time with their family and taking advantage of everything Idaho has to offer. As third-generation Idahoans, they love cheering on Boise State football, spending time at the lake, skiing at Bogus Basin, and camping in the Sawtooth Mountains.
